12 Days of Christmas 2014

Sam had a "good quit" on a Friday, so we took advantage of the 55 degree sun-shiny day to head up the road and cut down our Christmas tree!
Sam started the cutting
Carrying our Christmas tree back to the truck

All loaded up into the back of Wayne
We have hung our stockings, tree is decorated, mistletoe up and all of the rest of our Christmas decorations ready to go.
This is the 2nd annual "12 Days of Christmas". It's a fun excuse to open something on each day until Christmas Day. The Days usually include Christmas treats, something for us to do or somewhere for us to go - to get into the Christmas spirit!
Here are a few examples from this year:
12th Day of Christmas = Saturday, December 13th:
Tuba Christmas at Pioneer Courthouse Square
Some 200+ tuba players gather in the Square and play Christmas/Holiday music for all to sing along!
9th Day of Christmas = Tuesday, December 16th:
Bundle up & Go for a Stroll
There are several options for a Christmas-themed stroll to look at all the pretty lights: Christmas Fantasy Trail (Oregon City), Zoo Lights, Peacock Lane, etc.
We weren't able to get out on the 16th, but re-scheduled for Friday, December 19th at Zoo Lights!
We splurged and bought tickets to ride the Zoo Train - the line went quick and kept us entertained along the route.
Peacock
Salmon and other water life.
Gingerbread House.
Wizard of Oz characters!
Washington Park and Zoo Railway
All aboard :)

There were 2 trains. Here we are passing the second one, which was much cooler looking than our own.

Animals on the Zoo Concert lawn.
One of the few live animals we saw at Zoo Lights.

7th Day of Christmas = Thursday, December 18th:
Popcorn & a Movie + stringing garland for the tree
We rescheduled the popcorn night for Friday, December 19th after Zoo Lights.
6th Day of Christmas: Roast Marshmallows inside on the fire tonight.

Looking forward to coming up with new ideas for the years to come!
