This is Dean Douglas.

Born: Monday, October 4th, 2021 at 2238

7 lbs 12 oz, 21 inches

Eye color: Blue-greyish

It was an epic, swift birth, by our accounts! 

Around 1200, Mary was timing contractions (frequency and duration) while at work; gave Sam a heads-up around 1600 but unsure of a timeline. Made it until ~2130, called Sam and walked up to the 5th floor, birthplace unit. Roomed by 2145, at 6 cm! Sam arrived by 2212.

Asked my RN about trying nitrous -- she left the room to get consent paperwork. Back to back contractions + pushing led to baby BOY at 2238. Caught by the RN, assisted by Sam, who all ran in from the hallway! Wild time.

10.6.21 Meet grandparents and big sister, Hayden

Strong neck already!

Some nipple confusion after we used a pacifier a few times

10.10.21 First backyard lap as a family of 5!

We have forgotten the diaper bag 2 of 2 times when out with him (for his 2-day follow-up after hospital, and errands). Blowout at the clinic (of course!)

10.16.21 Enough volume for first 6 oz bag of milk!

10.17.21 Slept 2+ hours (2300-0100) in the bassinet 

10.17.21 First brewery: Bent Paddle on a terrific October day

10.18.21 Up to 8 lbs 7 oz at his 2-week appt! 7 lb 12 oz > 7 lb 4 oz > 8 lb 7 oz. Passed his sister's birth weight.

Improved sleeping in the bassinet for a few hours several times at night. Gas seems to be getting better, too. Grunty, squeaky REM sleeper

Halloween weekend 2021: he was a champ for the Rammel bonfire and Lakeside trick or treating! His Dino costume was too big, but he wore Snoopy/Peanuts Halloween onesie 

When he stretches his legs, sometimes very fast like he'll jump or stand on your lap!
